Early Generosity
The Methodist Church in Sebewaing, Trinity Methodist, delivered good quality clothes which remained from their recent rummage sale on the same day a delivery was made of quilts and others items from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bay City. Roy Schmidt was president of the Int'l Lutheran Laymen's League in 1992 when Orphan Grain Train began as was for awhile a project of the LLL. He remembers well the beginning of Orphan Grain Train which has grown in this past quarter century to become, as it is today, one of the preeminent international humanitarian organizations.
