Perfectly Gorgeous Quilts from Trinity, Monitor

To all the wonderful women who sew quilts for Orphan Grain Train, we thank you.  We can't post pictures of them all.  But please consider this as an illustration of the generosity of many caring women who have labored to prepare quilts we send around the world.

The quilts pictured here with Fran Davis, one of our wonderful volunteers, were given by quilters from Trinity Lutheran Church, Bay City (Monitor).  The 100+ quilts are simply splendid and will bring warmth and comfort to many.

Gotta Take Care of the Building God's Given Us

To prevent threatened water damage the crew from Millerwise came to install a pair of new upper windows to our Center.  God has given us the blessing of this warehouse facility.  We mean to be good stewards of it.  Thanks, guys!

South Sudan Project Update

Over a year in planning Orphan Grain Train--Michigan has worked toward a shipment to the Ev. Lutheran Church of South Sudan.  In collaboration with Lutheran Heritage Foundation we have assembled hundreds of theological books for the Lutheran seminary in Yambio and currently have a full load of ecclesiastical and humanitarian goods ready to go.

However, various official obstacles so-far have prevented a shipment we hoped for last Fall.  The task of acquiring import documentation and securing a freight forwarder has delayed our plans.

God must clear the way for us.  That is why we are praying continually.  And, as the follow video shows, we are continuing in the belief our Lord will somehow enable this effort.

Delivery the second week in March from Lutheran Heritage Foundation.
Theological books, tools, clothing, bedding, bicycles, and more.

Great Support and Goods from Hope Lutheran, St. Helens

When Orphan Grain Train--Michigan began almost four years ago, some of the first to visit when our warehouse was empty came from Hope Lutheran, St. Helen.  It was wonderful to see them again: Judy Malvitz, Cindy Besedich, Diane Malvitz, Naoma Lehner, and Joan Jaguszewski.

Prayers and Generosity Overflow

Women of the Gateway—Battle Creek Zone LWML

At their Prayer Day Retreat the women loaded a van with goods for Orphan Grain Train—Michigan.  A wonderful gathering of women January 21 made the day very special welcoming branch manager Pastor Reed as worship leader, speaker, and Bible class leader.

These are just a few of the forty marvelous mission-spirited women in attendance: Connie Batten, Kay Teadt, Susie Hart (all from Trinity, Sturgis), Jeanne Burton Lee (St. Paul, Colon), Liz Bailey (Trinity, Sturgis), Mary Craaybeek (St. Paul, Centreville) and Malinda Kline (St. John, Burr Oak).

The Love and Care of Christ for Such as These

Photos from the shipment of Orphan Grain Train--Michigan
to the Int'l Charity Fund Peace, Snaki, Republic of Georgia.

A vulnerable family in the village of Koki.  The family consists of father and 2 children--one with a disability. Their mother had passed away.  One of the volunteers shown here, Mrs. Iruza, delivered OGT blankets, towels, clothing, shoes, and toys.

“They were very very happy and could not believe their eyes. It was very touching to see this family so happy.”

Enguri 1" held humanitarian action in the districts of Sagabisonio and Gelenavebi.

It was a first time doing humanitarian action in the city of Poti.  “We are very happy to expand our working area and reach out to those who need us the most.”

Alongside "Toliskuri", we visited 30 elderly people who use the City of Poti's home care services.  We handed out personal items, hygiene products, blankets, clothes and more to thirty elderly persons. "Their living conditions are simply awful.  We were devastated and heavy-hearted from everything we witnessed."

A kindergarten was visited within Zugdidi Municipality where the children and teachers were gifted with toys, clothes, blankets and other items.

The head of this kindergarten was delighted and thankful for everything and thanked Orphan Grain Train--Michigan multiple times for giving the children immense joy and happy childhood memories.
