St. Paul, Linkville's 125th Anniversary Gifts

St. Paul Lutheran Church, Linkville, Michigan celebrated her 125 Anniversary as a Christian congregation on August 4. So blessed by the grace of God in Christ, the congregation planned as part of her celebration to gift Orphan Grain Train with 125 assembled hygiene kits. The church exceeded its goal and delivered 131 kits to the Michigan Center of Orphan Grain Train on the day of their celebration. The project was in cooperation with a Thrivent Action effort spearheaded by Cody Pfaff. This video captures the delivery of the kits and some of the activity at the Orphan Grain Train Center including various volunteers like Ron and Sue from St. Paul congregation processing these humanitarian goods for people in need. We thank everyone involved.

"We can squeeze in another two or three boxes."

Kim Herbolsheimer, our Branch Treasurer, arrived July 30 with a load of clothing from Grace Lutheran Church, Auburn. It was a tight fit, but he assured folks there that a couple more boxes could be squeezed into the cab. It all arrived safely and almost immediately was processed. Grace maintains its own Christian care outreach to the community through Grace Closet, making useful used clothing available to neighbors on limited resources.

Friends from Trinity Lutheran, Reese

An enthusiastic group from Trinity Lutheran Church, Reese, came to visit the OGT-M Center to see what God is doing here.  Trinity has been among our earliest and most generous supporting congregations.  It was a delight to share the mission of Orphan Grain Train with all of them
